Google is looking into a new bug in the YouTube app that hides a critical element of the app’s UI. The bug hides YouTube’s navigation bar, leaving users with no way to access certain pages.
YouTube is facing yet another bug that makes finding content a little harder. Google notes that the issue results in users seeing a blank space where the navigation bar should be in the YouTube app on Android. That bar normally houses the subscriptions and library tabs, but it appears that isn’t the case for quite a few users.
This seems to be affecting users on YouTube’s free tier the most, though Google notes that Premium users might be seeing issues as well. The original forum post has over 1,500 affirming votes, indicating that more than a few users are experiencing the same issue.
There are likely many more seeing this bug that haven’t voted in the forum.
This comes as YouTube saw a major bug a couple of months ago. That glitch essentially wiped the home screen of recommendations and library videos, offering up random content that isn’t necessarily to the user’s taste. That issue has since been fixed.
Google has not stated a time frame on fixing the navigation bar bug in YouTube’s Android app, though it has confirmed it is looking into the issue.
